Hangzhou- the City of Heaven
Yingxian School of Philanthropy is located in Hangzhou,the largest and the capital city of Zhejiang Province. In the 13th century, Marco Polo recognized Hangzhou’s exceptional beauty, naming it the City of Heaven, which means the most magnificent city on earth. It is one of the most picturesque and culturally richcities in China.
History
Hangzhou has been founded during the Qing Dynasty as Qiantang County. In AD 589, the city was renamed as Hangzhou, literally meaning river-ferrying prefecture, and a city wall was constructed two years later. It is listed as one of the Seven Ancient Capitals of China.
It was the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty in 1123. It served as the seat of the imperial government, a center of trade and entertainment, and the nexus of the main branches of the civil service.
Economy:
After a hundred years of endeavor, Hangzhou's economic aggregate has entered the forefront tierin China, and its world ranking has entered into the second square. In recent years, Hangzhou has been awarded titles such asthe Top 10 Cities with the most International Influence, Top 10 Innovative Cities in China, Top 10 Smart Cities in China, 15 Sample Cities for Tourism Best Practices in the World, Forbes Best Business Cities in Mainland China, and so on.
Nowadays, the city has become one of the biggest global innovation centersfor artificial intelligence and robotics, with the Zhejiang government developing several IT centers.
Easy to reach:
Hangzhou is easily reached by any public transportation in the country. It takes only onehour from Shanghai by high-speed railway. Its international airport offers regular flights to destinations throughout China and the world. City's modern public transportation system allows easy traveling to every corner of the city.

Overview
Zhejiang Gongshang University’s predecessor was the Hangzhou secondary business school founded in 1911. At the beginning of establishment, it was the pioneer of business education in Zhejiang province and one of the earliest commercial specialized schools in China. Hangzhou business school was established with the approval of the State Council in 1980 and renamed Zhejiang Business University with the approval of the Ministry of education in 2004. For more than a hundred years, the school has been adhering to the tradition of running a business school. Especially since 1998, when the school was changed from the college directly under the former Ministry of Commerce to “jointly built by the central and local governments, focusing on local management”, the school has adhered to the road of running a school with characteristics, focusing on economics and management, coordinated development of law, engineering and other disciplines, and the school operation level has been continuously improved. In 2015, the University has been identified as a university jointly built by the Government of Zhejiang Province, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Education. In 2017, the University has been identified as a key construction university in Zhejiang Province, and the disciplines of statistics and business administration has been selected into the list of advantageous and characteristic disciplines in Zhejiang Province.
The university consists of three campuses: Xiasha, Jiaogong road, and Tonglu, covering an area of 1826700 square meters. The university has more than 2600 teaching staff, including more than 2100 full-time teachers, more than 130 doctoral supervisors, more than 380 with senior titles, more than 650 with deputy senior titles and more than 1130 staff with a PhD degree. It has high-level talents such as double employed academicians, Changjiang Scholars, national outstanding young scholars, national excellent young scholars, special experts of Zhejiang Province, national “ten thousand people plan”, national candidates for the million-talent project, outstanding talents of the Ministry of education in the new century, national famous cultural experts and “four one batch” talents, and young talents of national publicity, ideology and culture. At present, there are more than 26800 full-time undergraduates, more than 5100 postgraduates, more than 990 international students and more than 20000 students with higher education.
